Housekeeper cleaning tasks


The house cleaner job position may include many of the following cleaning tasks:

  • Dusting
  • Vacuuming of all carpeted areas
  • Sweep and mop all hard surface floors
  • Wipe down tables and countertops

  • Clean window sills
  • Deep clean toilets, bathtubs and showers

Cleaning Job Qualifications​

  1. Ability to stand on your feet for a long time
  2. Attention to detail and organized with job duties and supplies
  3. Ability to carry a backpack vacuum
  4. Able to follow directions and the company’s dress code or rules
  5. Be able to deal with many different dirty projects or tasks, including bad smells or spills
  6. Ability to lift cleaning supplies shipments up to 30lbs
  7. Having stable transportation and the ability to be on time each day
  8. Be task oriented and not waste time
  9. Be able to communicate with a supervisor about any cleaning issues or problems
  10. Potentially go above and beyond the call of duty

Janitor cleaning tasks


An office or commercial building cleaner, also known as a janitor, may be required to perform some of the following tasks:

  • Remove trash and reline cans
  • Vacuum all carpet
  • Sweep and mop hard surface floors
  • Dust
  • Wipe down all tables and countertops
